What makes this scene for me is knowing that Tracy was speaking directly to Hepburn when he delivers the speech. He was, knowing he was dying, telling her how much he loved her, how much he felt for her, and a goodbye of sorts. Besides, Katharine’s tears seem so true to me, like she knew she was losing the love of her life. This shatters me, every time I watch it.
